On Wednesday, Stephen Colbert set out time during his taping of his show, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, to send out his support to Trebek.
Colbert said, “The clue is, stay strong Alex. And the answer in the form of a question is, ‘What does everyone watching want you to do?’ We love you Alex!”
Trebek, who’s been hosting Jeopardy for 35-years, made the announcement about his diagnosis via a video posted to Jeopardy’s YouTube channel.
“Now, just like 50,000 other people in the United States each
year, this week I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
Now normally, the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but
I’m going to keep working. And with the love and support of my
family and friends and with the help of your prayers also, I plan
to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease. Truth be
told, I have to! Because under the terms of my contract, I have to
host Jeopardy for three more years! So help me. Keep the faith
and we’ll win. We’ll get it done” said Trebek.
A fella by the name of Kevin W tweeted that Trebek shouldn’t let the low survival rate keep him down.
Alex Trebek has Pancreatic cancer. It is true the survival rate is low, but miracles are possible. My wife is a pancreatic cancer survivor. Prayer is powerful. Lets remember Alex and his family in our prayers.

Along with Stephen Colbert and Kevin W, Trebek received support from his colleage Pat Sajak, who is the host of the game show The Wheel of Fortune , the CIA, and a fella by the name of Mike Garcia.
The Sajak family is deeply saddened to hear of Alex Trebek’s struggle with cancer. Our hearts go out to him and his family. But there is no one I know who is stronger and more determined, and I would never bet against him. We, and the entire country, are pulling for you, Alex.

Trebek is a good, decent human being. He’s one of the few folks who I can honestly say that I’ve never heard one bad thing about.
Hopefully, Alex Trebek will be here with us beyond the three years on his conthrtract. And if God’s willing, he’ll make it to the big 1-0-0!
